My holiday at the beach is over for another year. We had a wonderful time, slowing down. But, one of my absolute favourite things to do is walk on the sand.

The amazing thing about walking on the beach is that fact that you leave your mark clearly behind. You can’t walk without leaving footprints. I tried. No matter how gently or carefully I tread, there was evidence of my presence to anyone who walked behind.

"Are we there yet?" I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard it from your kids, but I heard it from mine, a lot. I moved from Yeppoon to go to uni and married a Brisbane boy. He was building a business and it was pretty clear pretty soon that if I wanted to spend more than a few days a year with my family I would have to learn to drive to Yeppoon with the kids by myself. Grandma's Legacy

I am lying on my bed in my new house, looking out the windows at some really tall trees behind the houses across the street, and it got me thinking about Grandparent’s Day. Last Sunday we celebrated Grandparent's Day in church. We had a bit of inter-generational fun with a mock game show, honoured the Grandparents by praying for them, and enjoyed morning tea with fruit cake and Arnott's biscuits. My own kids and parents weren’t there, and I no longer have living grandparents, so I spent the day busy with my usual Sunday responsibilities.
