"Are we there yet?" I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard it from your kids, but I heard it from mine, a lot. I moved from Yeppoon to go to uni and married a Brisbane boy. Too Much of a Good Thing

We moved house. We found a brand new rental just ten minutes away in a great neighbourhood, close to major roads and shops. It’s a great house and we are going to enjoy living here. It has everything we need; four bedrooms, a study and two living areas. It has a good size yard with a fence for our dog, and a beautiful kitchen with a big five burner stove. Absolutely nothing to complain about. But, it’s smaller than our last house. That was always the plan, to downsize, but the reality of that has kind of slapped me in the face, and it stings a bit for a while.

A Birthday Reflection

This week I turned 47. I’m not upset about getting older because I have a great life, full of people who love me, people to love, a job that is challenging and purposeful. I live in an incredibly beautiful part of the world and I have opportunities to enjoy it. I spent my birthday sitting on the balcony of our 15th floor holiday apartment looking out over a picturesque beach, a sparkling blue ocean, whales swimming by. The white sand littered with colourful beach umbrellas, children playing, young adults kicking footballs and tossing frisbees. It was absolutely perfect.
